MELV is business software sold to businesses. Most of the personal data in it is entered by our customers about their own business contacts. This page explains what we hold and why.
Who is responsible for what
For data our customers put into MELV about their contacts, the customer is the data controller and MELV is a processor acting on their instructions. For account data about the people who sign in to MELV, we are the controller.
What we hold
| Account data | Name, username, work email address, role, branch, hashed password, and sign-in timestamps. |
| Contact records | Entered or imported by the customer: names, business phone numbers, email addresses, brokerage or company, and notes about the business relationship. |
| Activity | Calls logged, outcomes recorded, notes written, follow-ups scheduled, and an audit trail of changes. |
| Project data | Property addresses, services, scheduling, values, invoices and payment dates for work the customer performs. |
| Condition photographs | Where the customer uses condition reports, images of properties. Stored privately and served only to signed-in users of that branch. |
| Market data | Public property-listing information obtained from RentCast and matched to contact records. |
What we do not do
- We do not sell personal data, and we never have.
- We do not use customer data to train machine-learning models.
- We run no advertising, analytics or session-recording scripts in the application.
- We set no tracking cookies. The only cookie MELV sets is the session cookie required to keep you signed in.
Subprocessors
| Cloudflare, Inc. | Hosting, database, file storage, DNS and transactional email. |
| PhoneBurner, Inc. | Outbound calling, for customers who connect it. Receives contact name and phone number. |
| RentCast | Public property-market data. Receives no customer data. |
Retention
Customer data is retained for as long as the customer's account is active. On written request we will delete a customer's data within 30 days, except where we are required to keep records for legal or accounting reasons. Raw webhook payloads captured for troubleshooting expire automatically after 14 days.
Your rights
If you are a person whose details appear in a MELV customer's account, the customer controls that record and your request is best directed to them. If you cannot identify them, write to privacy@getmelv.com and we will forward your request to the relevant customer.
If you hold a MELV login, you may request a copy of your account data or ask us to delete it by writing to the same address.
Where data is processed
MELV runs on Cloudflare's global network. Data may be processed in any country where Cloudflare operates. We do not currently offer a region-pinned deployment.
